“Craig Smith (born November 10, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. After playing at Boston College from 2002 to 2006, he was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2006 NBA draft.” Smith went on to play abroad internationally for several professional basketball teams and also played in the BIG3 League. He is now the Director of Entertainment Partnerships for Sootchy App, an app that helps parents put their kids through college without the debt.

Exciting news! I am thrilled to announce that I have been inducted into the Fairfax High School Hall of Fame alongside an extraordinary group of people. This honor is especially meaningful to me because of the hard work and dedication I put in to achieve my dream of becoming an NBA player. I used to wake up at 5:30 am every day just to arrive at school by 6:15/6:30 and hop the gate with my friend Miles. By the time school started at 8am, I was already drenched in sweat and fully focused on becoming the best version of myself. Craig Smith is a former NBA player, overseas professional basketball player and player for the Big 3. Craig most notably played 6 seasons in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers averaging 7.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game during his NBA career.
Craig was also a phenomenal college basketball player at Boston College. His senior season he averaged 17.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.0 assistants. He left BC with 2349 points (2nd in BC’s scoring history), and 1114 rebounds (1st in BC’s career rebounding).

Craig Smith is a native Angeleno who graduated from Fairfax high school. Smith attended Worcester Academy, for a year as a post graduate student before college. He then graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
Smith was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 36th overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft. He also played for the Portland Trailblazers and most notably for The Los Angeles Clippers. After his stint in the NBA, Smith went overseas and played for teams in Israel and China.
Smith is now an ambassador to his former team the LA Clipoers, a recent author with his book: Craig and his Magical Basketball, an assistant coach at Crossroads in Santa Monica, and the director of partnerships at Sootchy inc. Craig just finished the NBPA’s Broadcaster U.
